The Art Inspector is a third party certification agent that examines the environmental impact of art process and practice. Art Inspector works with interested agents such as curators, artists, collectors, and more in order to pre-qualify artists who pass a standard of environmental responsibility.

Ability to apply national and international third party standards such as ISO 4200, LEED, Title 24, MSDS, FSC, etc.

 

Product review. Using inputs from industry, evaluates new products for their applicability for artists as alternatives to present products in use. This information informed by direct experience working with materials in a wide variety of art mediums in fine arts, digital arts and public art.

 

Creating the largest and most extensive Bay Area data set of alternative (green, non-toxic and protected) art materials for several fine arts mediums including fibers, paper based materials, waxes, paints, solvents, adhesives and photography.

 

Extensive experience contacting and working with manufacturers to identify which materials made be able to apply to artist practices.

 

Publishes and manages a blog and social network of artists reviewing, discussing and identifying hazardous artist materials and possible alternatives.

 

Creation of a copyrighted intake forms for audits and assessment.Conducted assessments of artist studios and work places.Conducted several workshops for artist communities around the bay area around green and healthier art materials.
